It's finished

My Martha Washington Flower Garden quilt is now complete. I had it custom quilted. I honestly don't know if I will do another one or not. Maybe I will do something smaller.

The quilt store did a wonderful job in quilting the quilt. This quilt is definitely an heirloom.

Sunday stitching

Here is the progress of my patchwork of the crosses quilt. It is a little hard to see because it is laid out on my carpet.  The "filler squares" need to be sewn together and then attached to the blocks. I think I will leave it this size. I am itching to do a different project.

Patchwork of the Crosses

I started on the patchwork of the crosses quilt years ago. I have to admit that I was intimidated by how beautiful some blocks were. I decided to make a small wall hanging or table runner. I might make it 3 blocks by 3 blocks.
This is a coaster that I made for a coworker. She loves peacocks. There is felt on the back and I quilted along the edges as well as the seams.

This is another coaster. I gave it to my daughter, Amanda. She has been sick and I thought it would make a nice gift.

Ribbon Star Quilt

This is my variation of the ribbon star quilt.  I used a jelly roll and added background fabric. After the blocks were completed I took some of them to Hobby Lobby and found the burgundy and yellow fabric. I found the outer border at a quilt store in Oklahoma City. The quilt just needs to be quilted.  I am currently saving my money to go on a quilt cruise in Alaska next August.  The quilting will have to wait. I need to teach myself how to quilt. Someday.

Shop hopping

I had the privilege of going to 2 quilt stores that I had never been to in Oklahoma.  One was in Hennesse,OK and the other was in Guthrie. It was a lot of fun. I came home with some fabric.  I will post that picture later.

Still here

I know that it has been awhile since I last written in my blog.  I am back in school , which takes away my time . I have one more row of hexagons to make and sew onto my Martha Washington Flower Garden quilt. 36 hexagons. I am so excited. Here are some hexagons that I have been playing with.

This quilt is slowly coming together. I am working on the edge of the quilt. Right now I am adding a row of the cream fabric. As I work on it, I am thinking about how I will complete the edge. I plan on making the edge straight and adding some fabric around it. I hope to have the quilt done in a year. That is my goal. A little at a time.
