This quilt is slowly coming together. I am working on the edge of the quilt. Right now I am adding a row of the cream fabric. As I work on it, I am thinking about how I will complete the edge. I plan on making the edge straight and adding some fabric around it. I hope to have the quilt done in a year. That is my goal. A little at a time.

Disappearing nine patch

I have a whole drawer full of 3x3 squares from my hexagon quilt. I decided to sew them into 9 patch squares. Then I cut the nine patch in half both ways and sewed those squares together, making the disappearing mine patch. I then put  a gray square in between.

Here is the quilt on my display wall.

Putting the puzzle together

As I work on the edge of this quilt, I feel like I am putting a puzzle together. I figured out the layout of the hexies. I also figured out how many that I will need. This layout is just for the 2 sides. The top and bottom will be a straight row of hexies. I am going to make myself take a break for about a month. My wrist is hurting a little bit. Hopefully I can get some sewing done. I have several projects that are close to being done.

Where has time gone?

I noticed that it has been awhile since I last posted in my blog. I have been keeping busy. My Martha Washington flower garden quilt is coming along. It is all sewn together. The only thing that I have left to do is to put a row or two of hexagons around it. I figure that I will be working on it for another year or so.

I have making small flowers made out of hexagons. I haven't decided what I am going to do with them yet though. Time will tell.

My two youngest kids graduated a few weeks ago. I remember when they were little munchkins, and when they went to kindergarten for the first time. Time flies, doesn't it?

Enjoying my day outside

It was a lovely day outside. After doing some yardwork, I decided to sit outside and sew. I took everything that I needed outside. I left my ironing board inside. The project that I worked on was my wagon wheel quilt. I have been working on it for about 5 years. I have even taken it apart twice. Here are some pictures. I played the rows of wheels on the deck and held them up with some cans from the cupboard. 😁😁  πŸŒΌπŸŒΈπŸŒ»

Display wall in the making

Yesterday my husband started to put my display wall for my quilts up. He would have finished it, but we didn't have enough of the foam board. I took advantage of what was available and pinned a quilt up. I admit, the pictures aren't the best, but oh well.

I am linking up with Kathy's Quilts. Slow Stitch Sunday.

Long half diamond

Here is my latest long half-diamond. I need to make 2 more. I have the fabric chosen for both of them. I found this civil war fabric at a local quilt store that is trying to survive. They emerged after Hancock's closed.
Today is the one day that I have to accomplish what I want. I don't know about you, but I have several things that I want to do. 1. Make another long half-diamond. 2. Work on my Red, White, and Blue quilt. 3. Work on my block of the month quilt.  4.Cook  a few meals to freeze. We shall see what I do get done. I am going to go get my friends at McDonald's and will work on my hexies. I hope that you who are reading this blog have an enjoyable day.

Plugging away

This Martha Washington Flower Garden quilt is coming along. I figured that I need 3 more of these "long, half-diamonds". They will go on the sides of the quilt. After that, I will need to add the "path" around it all. "Slowly but surely" is my motto.

Red, White, and Blue

I have been busy working a second job for a few months. I have been wanting to work on a quilt. Today I finally started to work on one that I had cut out months ago. It is a simple quilt made out of bricks that are 5 by 8 1/2 inches. I am hoping to have it completed in a few days.
